The Canadian Druze Society of Ontario had its’ Annual General Meeting on Sunday Feb 10th 2013. After presenting and discussing the Annual Financial & Activities reports, General election of the Board of Directors took place. The new board with responsibilities is as follows:
President: Giath Hamdan
Vice President: Ismat Maher
Secretary: Omar Abdul Samad
Treasurer: Akram Abousharaf
Director of Public Relations: Souheil El Halabi
Director of House Issues: Amin Younis
Director of Events and Fundraising: Wassam Zahreddine
Director of Youth and Sports: Ramzi Abi Rafeh
Coordinator of Ladies Committee: Sanaa Debaissy
Note : The position of officers at large still available for everyone; please email us if you would like to help the board and be an Office at Large prior to Feb.14th.
The new board will discuss and present their plan to the CDS members. We look forward for working together to the best of the community.
The new Board would also like to take the opportunity to thank the previous Board of Directors for a job well done last year and we will continue working all together for the best of our beloved community members.

2013 CDS Elections - February 10 2013 |

The Board of Directors of the CDS is pleased to invite you to our annual general meeting that will take place on Sunday February 10, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. at the Druze House.
As per our by-laws, the meeting agenda is as follows:
- Discussing the reports and the statements required at an annual meeting
a) Last year's activities report
b) Financial report
- Electing new Directors as required by our by-laws
- Renewing the period of our internal auditor or appointing a new one
- The transaction of any other business properly brought before the meeting
To participate in this election members should have their 2013 membership dues paid. Please look to the left side of this page for payment details.

First of all, HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Thank you all who have attended the 2013 New Year's Party. As always it's an honour to serve our community with one of the finest parties in Toronto. A big shout out goes to our local debke group for their amazing performance!

Queen Jubilee Award - Saturday January 26 2013 |

Our Honorary President, Mr. Walid El Awar, has been awarded the prestigious Queen's Golden Jubilee Medal for this year. This medal has a special significance because it represents the reign of Queen Elizabeth II for 60 years. It is presented to those individuals who served their country in social and charitable causes.
The Honourable Jim Karygiannis presented the award on behalf of the governor general of Canada.
The Canadian Druze Society will be honoured Mr. Walid El Awar at the same time.
